KOKOMO, Ind. (WTHR) – Police are looking for the driver of a car that left the scene of a serious accident early Sunday morning.

Police say at about 1:15 a.m. they found two vehicles crashed at the intersection of Elm and Webster Streets.

One was a white 2003 Saturn Vue with four people inside, including an 18-year-old Kokomo man who was driving. Police say he was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis in critical condition. Two of the three other male passengers were taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis in serious condition.

The other vehicle was a 2005 Saab, witnesses told police, but the driver of the Saab left before police and medics got to the scene. Witnesses described two black males who left scene, both of average height and build, in their late teens to early 20s, heading westbound on Elm Street.

One of those two men was reportedly wearing a gray hoodie and jeans, and the other a dark colored hoodie and jeans.

Three other occupants of the Saab, females aged 16, 18 and 20 according to police, were treated in local hospitals and released later Sunday morning.

Kokomo Police investigators believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
