Kokomo Police bust suspected counterfeiters

KOKOMO, Ind. — Kokomo Police have arrested two men, a woman and a teenage girl for counterfeiting money.

A tip led officers to the Terrace Meadow apartments Monday morning.

Officers were tipped off to a trash bag that was near one of the buildings.

Inside the trash bag, officers say they found evidence of counterfeiting.

They then got a search warrant for one of the apartments and found more than $2,000 in counterfeit money along with items used to make the fake money.

Police arrested Zyonna Wilson, Marcus Stone and Timothy Winston. A 17-year-old girl was also arrested.

In the past several months, Kokomo police say they have received numerous complaints of counterfeit money being spent at local businesses.
