Kokomo burglary suspect recovering after he was shot by resident

KOKOMO, Ind. (WTHR) — A Kokomo man is in stable condition at an Indianapolis hospital after police say he was shot in the stomach during a burglary.

Kokomo Police identified Kris Bratton, 49, as the suspect in a Sunday night burglary at the Turtle Creek Apartments on Kokomo's west side.

Police were called out the reported burglary just before 10 p.m. and arrived to find Bratton shot in the stomach.

Police did not identify the resident of the apartment they say shot Bratton.

This case remains under investigation.
