LOUISVILLE (WTHR) — 6-year-old David Turner had one of his "best days ever."

David has terminal brain cancer and his mother, Elizabeth, wanted to make his dream's come true, according to WAVE3.

So she arranged for him to become an honorary firefighter and spend the day with the crew.

"We actually went and picked him up, brought him here, and let him do all the things firefighters do while they're working at the station," Chief Gregory Frederick told WAVE3. "He got to put on the fire gear, flow water out of a fire hose, and pump the truck. Just a lot of things that a lot of kids don't get to do. We were really honored to be able to spend this day with him."

After his long day with Engine 8, he received plaque and gear.
