John Krasinski claims daughter forgot his 40th birthday, asks followers for cash

NEW YORK (WTHR) — Did you know John Krasinski celebrated his 40th birthday on Sunday? Don't worry -- you aren't the only one who forgot.

"The Office" and "A Quiet Place" actor shared a video on Instagram and Twitter detailing how his daughter forgot his special day:

"Hey, everybody. John Krasinski here, and it is October 20, which means it's my 40th birthday, and I know what a lot of you are thinking, 'wow -- he's old.' Thank you, I am. What you also might be thinking is 'really? Well that must've slipped my mind. What do you I get that guy on his big day?' And that is really, really too kind."

"You know, if you're one of those people who said, 'please, no gifts on my birthday,' you and I are very different because I like gifts. I demand them. I'll go so far as to make you feel very awkward if you don't get me one. But lucky for you, I'm old school. I like cash. That "Goodfellas"-style just put it right in a pillowcase kind of cash."

Krasinski pulled out a pink pillowcase with rainbows on it.

"Yes, I stole that from my daughter, Beverly, because she also forgot it was my birthday."

Krasinski went on to say the money raised from the special Venmo account -- JKbday -- will be shared with Family Outreach, an organization that teaches skills to children and adults with special needs.

"Open up your hearts, open up your cyber wallets and make my birthday dreams come true," Krasinski concluded.

Krasinski and his wife, actress Emily Blunt, have been married for nine years and have two daughters together.

Krasinski can next be seen in the second season of Amazon Prime Video's "Jack Ryan," which will be released on Nov. 1.

As of Monday morning, the video has been viewed over 810,000 times on Instagram and 1.4 million times on Twitter.
