INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Andretti Autosport has announced IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe will return to the team for the GMR Grand Prix, the Indy 500 and the Texas 600.

Hinchcliffe will join five others racing with Andretti Autosport at the Indy 500: Alexander Rossi, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Colton Herta, Marco Andretti and Zach Veach.

Hinchcliffe will drive the No. 29 Genesys Honda for the races. He has already seen success with the Andretti Autosport team, with three IndyCar wins, 15 top 5 finishes and nine front-row starts during the 2012 through 2014 seasons.

"Honestly, it's so nice being able to announce some more good news," Hinchcliffe said in a release. "It's no secret that the 2020 season isn't going to be exactly what we were expecting, but being able to start the new year with the announcement that Genesys was stepping in to save our season and partner with us was awesome, and now adding the next big piece in my reunion with Andretti Autosport just really makes it feel like the momentum is going our way."

The 104th Running of the Indianpolis 500 is Sunday, May 24.
