IU K-9's happy reaction to handler's FaceTime call is adorable

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WTHR) - What do you do when it's your dog's birthday but you're out of town?

You FaceTime, of course.

Indiana University police Officer Ryan Skaggs was in North Carolina earlier this week, working security for the basketball team.

Normally, he's with his K-9, Zeus, pretty much 24-7.

So it was only right that he get a little two-way video time with the pooch on his third birthday.

Skaggs says Zeus ran around the house, trying to figure out where his voice was coming from.

The adorable photos went viral. Officer Skaggs says he's a little surprised by all the attention.

"I put it on my personal Facebook, then our media people got a hold of it and put it up. Honestly I felt bad not being there, which may sound silly, but I felt bad not being there for his birthday, so I just wanted to see my dog, so yeah, it's cool."

Skaggs' wife even made an adorable slideshow of Zeus and all of the adventures he's had since he's been with the family.
