ISP investigating officer involved shooting in Crawfordsville


CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) — Indiana State Police are investigating after a police officer shot a suspect overnight.

Police say the incident happened around 12:47 a.m. in Crawfordsville when an officer was asked to check out a situation in the 300 block of Walnut Street, not far from Wabash College on a report of a domestic problem.

When police arrived, they say someone pointed a gun at an officer.

That's when one of the Crawfordsville officers fired their own gun.

The suspect was taken to the hospital but is expected to survive.

No officers were hurt and police have not released any names.
