Arsenal Tech hosted Ben Davis Friday night.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Police evacuated the football stadium at Arsenal Tech Friday night as they investigated reports of shots fired in the area.

Police responded to two calls of shots fired near the high school, one in a neighborhood near the school and one reportedly in front of the school. Tech was playing Ben Davis in the opening week of high school football around the time the calls came in.

Early Saturday, IPS issued a statement saying officers with the IPS Police Department reported seeing people lighting firecrackers in the area.

As the Arsenal Tech HS football game let out on Friday night, there were reports of what sounded like gunfire leading to a chaotic scene and quick police response. After investigating, officers with the Indianapolis Public Schools Police Department, who were on the scene, reported seeing people light firecrackers.
