IPS board to vote on principal changes

Update: The board voted down Dr. White's proposal by a 4-3 margin Tuesday night.

Indianapolis - The IPS School Board will decide Monday night on a plan that could mean major changes for principals.

In some cases, IPS principals would be reassigned or transferred. In others, IPS would let them go.

Under the plan, 28 administrators would be transferred to new schools. The contracts of nine others would not be renewed.

IPS says they're making changes in order to get improvement grants, which stipulate the changing of the principal and 51 percent of the staff.

The school board meeting begins at 7:00 pm at the IPS education center in downtown Indianapolis.
