INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — As runners prepare for Saturday's Monumental Marathon, others will prepare to find alternate routes to get around the city.

IndyGo and race organizers for the CNO Financial Monumental Marathon have collaborated on a modified Red Line service alongside the marathon route.

Street closures will start as early as 5:30 a.m. and will last through 4:30 p.m.

Expect heavy delays along the race route because for the first time, all distances are completely sold out.

The following Red Line stations will be closed until the completion of the race:

  • Vermont
  • Statehouse
  • New Jersey
  • IU Health (No northbound service)
  • 22nd Street
  • Fall Creek

Operation will continue in two segments — one north of 38th Street and one south of 38th Street. Passengers traveling south from North College Avenue may stay on the bus during the turnaround and will exit at the temporary Red Line stop curbside on 38th Street and walk one block west to the Park Street Station. Passengers traveling north from downtown will exit at the Park Street Station and walk one block east to the temporary stop on the northeast corner of 38th and College Avenue.

IndyGo will begin servicing areas as the race progresses.
