INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The Indiana Department of Transportation is planning another full weekend of road construction on interstate highways in and around Marion County.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead this weekend and consider alternate routes.

The full closure of I-465 eastbound to northbound between I-65 and I-70 continues on the southeast side of Indianapolis through August 24. Drivers should expect backups on northbound I-65 and eastbound I-465 at peak travel times.

In Hamilton County, crews plan to work on I-69 southbound including the 116th Street collector lanes beginning at 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday. Ramps from 116th Street and State Road 37 to I-69 southbound will also close Friday night.

On the east side, look for I-465 from Fall Creek to the I-70 interchange to have the left two lanes closed from 11 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday. Northbound I-465 from 56th Street to Fall Creek will have all lanes closed starting Friday night at 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday. Traffic will be diverted onto the Shadeland Avenue collector lanes. Drivers will still be able to go northbound in this area.

On the northwest side, I-465 northbound will be down to two lanes between 71st St. and 86th St. between Friday night and Monday. Access ramps from 71st and 86th to northbound I-465 will also close for the weekend.

The two lane pattern in each direction of I-65 between I-465 and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. continues through August 24.

I-865 is single lane in each direction through August 30.
