INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - An act of blatant racism on Indy’s Eastside is angering neighbors.

Someone spray-painted the ‘N-word' on the side of a house near 19th Street and Emerson.

“That pisses me off our kids don’t need to see this let alone our neighbors,” said Heather Houston, who saw the graffiti while driving past the house.

The homeowner says he didn’t know his house had been spray painted until being awakened by neighbors Friday morning.

“I’m pretty upset about it. I don’t get it,” said Jeff Myers. “It wasn’t here at 5-o'clock this morning when I came home from work.”

Myers has temporarily covered up the vandalism but says he will have to get new siding.

He is checking with his neighbors to see if anyone captured video of the incident.
