Indianapolis Fencing Club


INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Indiana is known for its athletes in swimming, diving, and basketball.

But did you know, it's also a hot spot for fencing?

Half of the USA Women's Fencing Team in Rio comes from the University of Notre Dame. They are either current or former students, including, Mariel Zagunis, sisters Kelley and Courtney Hurley and Lee Kiefer.

They will go for the gold in team competition on Thursday in Rio.

If you have any interest in fencing, check out the Indianapolis Fencing Club. It has about 50 members, ranging in age from 8 to 80.

They are based out of the Abundant Life Church at 7606 E. 82nd St.
