FISHERS, Ind. (WTHR) - A former Marsh store is getting a $7 million facelift.

The Fishers location off 96th Street and Lantern Road closed more than two years ago and has been vacant ever since.

But now an Indianapolis-based developer is swooping in to buy the building. Strongbox plans to demolish part of the store to bring in a new tenant and then add more retail space, along with parking improvements and landscaping.

There are still some former Marsh stores sitting empty, including the one Fishers store at 116th Street and Brooks School Road. Some others got converted into new grocery stores. In fact, Kroger bought nearly a dozen of them.

But one of the most unique transitions was in Shelbyville, where they turned an old Marsh into a preschool.
