Indianapolis churches offer prayer, reflection before Election Day

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis decided now was the time to light a candle and pray for this nation on the eve of the election.

Churches across the city on Monday have held services and quiet moments of reflection and prayer. Church officials say it is the diocese's way of dealing with an election season they say has kept their parishioners up at night.

"All sides are welcome, whether you're Republican or Democratic or independent. The idea is that we need a space where people can kind of settle in, be aware that there's something a lot larger than them or any candidate and kind of be peaceful in that," said Rev. Suzanne Wille at the Episcopal Church of All Saints.
