Indiana Toll Road should have electronic passes this year

Granger - The company operating the Indiana Toll Road expects to have electronic tolling available along the highway's entire 157-mile route by the end of this year. ITR Concession Company officers told the toll road's advisory board on Thursday that they were awaiting final approval from the E-Z Pass Interagency Group.

Drivers could use be able to use electronic passes on the highway across northern Indiana by November.

The $40 million electronic toll collection project was mandated by the toll road lease finalized in June by Governor Mitch Daniels' administration.

A driver with an E-Z pass can drive on any of the member tollways and receive one account statement.
