IMPD looking for shoplifter who hit officer

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Indianapolis Metro Police Department is looking for a shoplifter who hit an officer as he tried to get away.

The off-duty officer was working security at the Walmart on Emerson Avenue near I-465 on the south side.

As the officer tried to stop the shoplifter, the suspect hit the officer with his car and took off.

The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect was driving a silver 4-door sedan.

Detectives are asking if anyone has information on this shoplifter’s identity that they contact Detective Carroll at 317-327-6331 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477 or (TIPS).
