IMPD investigating hit-and-run that critically injured bicyclist on south side

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Metro Police hit-and-run detectives are looking for the car that hit a man riding a bike on the south side, then left the scene.

The cyclist was in critical condition when medics took him to the hospital.

Police say they are looking for a dark passenger car that came off Interstate 465 onto South East Street just after midnight Thursday.

Officers learned the bicyclist, identified as an adult male, was riding on east street when he was hit.

A witness at the scene said it was raining at the time of the accident.
