IMPD investigating fatal stabbing on the city's north side


INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – Indianapolis Metro Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that happened on the city's near north side.

Just after 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the 2900 block of East 34th Street near Washington Park on reports of a stabbing.

Police say the victim, 62-year-old Gregory Hunt, suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Hunt reportedly knew his attacker.

Investigators are looking for a person of interest in the stabbing and say while the suspect remains at large, they do not believe the general public is in danger.
