INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Metro police have arrested a suspected porch pirate thanks to help from the community.

Last week, IMPD asked for help identifying the man caught on camera taking a package from a house on Alabama Street in the Herron-Morton neighborhood.

Detectives announced Friday morning they'd identified the man and arrested him on an unrelated warrant. Because they haven't finished putting their case together against him for the porch piracy, they haven't released his name.

"Thank you again to the community for working with us to locate and identify this suspect," IMPD said in its Facebook post. "It only took us about 5 days from our initial post for the information to pan out. You guys rock."
