I-65 work to cause delays in Bartholomew and Jackson counties


BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) — Expect backups and traffic problems in the coming weeks in Bartholomew and Jackson Counties.

A traffic switch and bridge closure are scheduled over the next week as part of the I-65 reconstruction project:

Traffic Switch

Crews will switch traffic on I-65 NB, south of S.R. 58 in Bartholomew County, the evening of Friday, July 12, where northbound traffic will move to newly constructed concrete pavement on the northbound side of I-65.

The median lane and shoulder will remain closed while additional work is completed. Southbound lanes will also remain restricted until median work is complete.

Bridge Closure

C.R. 800 N. will close for approximately 55 days over I-65 in Jackson County, beginning Monday, July 15, for bridge rehabilitation.

The detour for the closure is N. C.R. 1000 E. to C.R. 700 N. to U.S. 31.

Motorists should continue to exercise caution in the ongoing construction zone between Columbus and Seymour. All work is weather dependent.
