Hurricane Dorian will continue to bring high surf, dangerous storm surge, the threat for tornadoes and at least tropical storm force winds to the Carolinas through Friday. Wind gusts from Dorian over the last 12 hours have been hurricane force across the Carolinas.

Our local forecast includes another cool night with temperatures in the 50s. We are forecasting more clouds than sunshine on Friday. It will be breezy and warmer, with highs in the lower 80s. A stray shower is possible on Friday, but most of the area will be dry.

Friday evening will be breezy with partly cloudy skies for high school football games.

The weekend will start with some sun and highs near 80 on Saturday. Temperatures will be tricky on Sunday. Where there are more clouds and a few showers north, temperatures will only be in the 70s. Where we have more sunshine and stay dry south, temperatures will be in the lower 80s. The chance for rain will move south later Sunday into early Monday.

The big weather story early next week will be the return of summer-like heat. Highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s on Tuesday and Wednesday. There is a slight storm chance on Wednesday with scattered storms possible on Thursday.
