Hurricane Dorian is still a category 2 hurricane with winds at 110mph. The outer bands are now impacting the coastal sections of Georgia and South Carolina. The National Hurricane center is tracking Dorian NNW at 8mph.

A gradual turn to the NE is forecast over the next 12 hours. Provided this happens, a direct landfall is not forecast for South Carolina. South Carolina is prepared with mandatory evacuations for areas along the coast and some of the islands. Even if Dorian doesn't make landfall, it will be close enough for at least tropical storm force winds and dangerous storm surge. The southern parts of South Carolina will be dealing with the hurricane through early afternoon Thursday. From there the hurricane moves toward the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This area has the best chance for landfall late Thursday into early Friday. Here is the timeline.
