Avon - Police have solved a mystery involving a human bone.

A worker at Washington Township Community Park in Avon discovered the bone near one of the main pavilions in an open grass area last week.

Park employees say they find bones all the time, but they have always ended up being animal bones. This time it turned out to be a human jawbone.

Police now tell Eyewitness News it is from a cadaver dog training company.

The company let Avon police know Thursday morning it was part of training at the park. Donated human bones are used to train police dogs.

Police searched the park and also found a portion of a knee bone.
