HSE Schools responds to 'blackface' post on social media

FISHERS, Ind. (WTHR) — Hamilton Southeastern Schools released a statement following a post circulating on social media, alleging that a Fishers student used blackface to mock another student.

The post has been shared more than 7,000 times.

Later Saturday, Hamilton Southeastern Schools posted on their Facebook page, writing "We do not condone such behavior by any member of our school community. The use of racially-offensive language or behavior in our schools by anyone does not reflect our values as a district and will not be tolerated."

There is no additional information regarding the school's investigation into the social media post at this time.
