Horse found in California swimming pool attempting to evade wildfires

PARADISE, Calif (WTHR) — As wildfires burn across southern California people and some animals are trying evade the blaze anyway they can.

Jeff Hill was checking on someone's house when he found an unlikely survivor in the swimming pool.

Hill found a horse caught in the backyard pool cover.

As I was checking to see if someone’s house was standing we stumbled upon this girl who had given up and had the look of defeat in her eyes. There’s no telling how long she was there but she was shivering uncontrollably and ultimately lost her fight."

Because the horse couldn't untangle herself, Hill assisted the horse and got it out of the pool. Hill wrote that the pool cover saved her from drowning.

"She got out, shook off, loved on us for a few minutes as a thank you and walked off assuring us that she was OK."
