INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Governor Eric Holcomb shared some good news Thursday regarding child welfare in the state.

He ceremonially signed a bill which provides for better in-home placement.

He also signed a second bill that extends the age when foster-care youth can receive care services from 20 to 21. That also gave him the opportunity to announce a nearly 19% reduction in family case-manager turnover.

"These are people, I believe, called into the toughest duty in state government and they are excellent at it right now."

The governor added there is still plenty of work to do because even one tragedy involving a child is too many.
