INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Christmas came early for Governor Eric Holcomb Thursday.

You may not have known that Indiana's governor is a collector of presidential signatures.

His collection was one short, and as fortune would have it, it arrived Thursday during an interview with Eyewitness News reporter Kevin Rader.

"I have a document signed in the own hand of all the presidents. I have been doing this for a long time. Years and years and years and saving, saving, saving and waited to get the first last. George Washington came minutes ago, finally, right before Christmas. How convenient," Holcomb said.

George Washington's signature appears on an envelope with a red seal on the back. It's addressed to a colonel at Fort Pitt.

The Governor said he "couldn't wait" to show it to the first lady.
