INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – A historic Indianapolis church is celebrating its recovery from fire this weekend.

A year and a half ago, a fire caused more than a million dollars in damage to Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Now, repairs are complete and Sunday they returned to the sanctuary for Sunday services.

"It's an emotional thing," church member Tillie Mason said. "It's good to be back home. We've been away for 18 months and it's been a struggle, some ups and downs but we're here. God is good."

The church on West 25th Street celebrated its 80th anniversary just a few months ago.
