Health department offers low-cost flu shot clinics

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – The Marion County Public Health Department is offering low cost flu shots this month.

It is hosting several walk in clinics at its district offices, with the first clinic starting Tuesday.

The shot is $20 for anyone 2 years old or up. Kids under 2 years old can get the shot for free.

According to the health department, the CDC recommends getting a flu shot by the end of October. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies that protect against flu to develop in the body.

The clinics are scheduled for the following locations and times:

Old Bethel Church
7995 E. 21st Street
9 to 11 a.m.

Southport Presbyterian Church
7525 McFarland Blvd.
9 a.m. to noon

Tuesday, Oct. 15
Indiana Chin Baptist Church
8528 Madison Ave.
9 a.m. to noon

Sunday, Oct. 20
St. Gabriel Catholic Church
6000 W. 34th Street
10 a.m. to noon

Tuesday, Oct. 22
Southport United Methodist Church
1947 E. Southport Road
9 a.m. to noon

Thursday, Oct. 24
Cathedral Kitchen
1350 N. Pennsylvania Street
9 to 11 a.m.

Englewood Christian Church

4 to 6 p.m.
