INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A group of high school football players got a big thank you Saturday night for helping out the Kokomo tornado victims.

The Kokomo High School-Hamilton Heights game was canceled Friday night because of severe weather this week. So instead, both teams joined forces and pitched in with the cleanup effort.

When the Colts heard about what happened, Owner Jim Irsay rewarded the players by giving them free tickets to Saturday's pre-season game and welcoming them on the field before kickoff for a special recognition.

When they were announced, the crowd gave them a standing ovation.
