Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy unhurt after I-69 crash

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy was not seriously hurt after a crash on Interstate 69 Friday morning.

The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. near the ramp from westbound I-465 to northbound Interstate 69.

Indiana State Police troopers investigating the crash say they believe the deputy was working in a construction zone on I-69 when a woman became distracted and rear-ended the deputy's SUV.

The woman was taken to Community Hospital North to be checked out. Her injuries were not believed to be serious.

The deputy had some bumps and bruises from the crash, but refused treatment.

State Police say the crash is still under investigation.
