GREENFIELD, Ind. (WTHR) - A Hancock County woman will spend more than a decade behind bars for allegedly giving a teenager a powerful drug that led to his death.

Anna Southgate was sentenced to 12 years in prison for reckless homicide as part of a plea deal. Police say last January, she gave 16-year-old Jacob Root the drug fentanyl, then didn't call 911 for help when he was overdosing.

A police search warrant on her phone now reveals she Googled, "What to do if your friend has overdosed" and "the dying process" instead of calling for help.

Root was found dead inside her Greenfield home.
