Gov. Holcomb announces $380,000 in funding for safer school bus stops

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb has announced nearly $400,000 in grant funding for 39 Indiana counties.

About 230 Indiana police agencies will receive federal grants for visible traffic enforcement near school bus stops, including speeding, aggressive driving and school bus stop-arm violations.

The grants are from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

Holcomb said departments will use the grants to equip officers with resources to enforce increased fines and penalties for reckless and aggressive drivers.
