'Gilmore Girls' diner actor offers coffee talk to weekend convention goers

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Fans of "Gilmore Girls" will have a chance to have coffee with Luke Danes - actually actor Scott Patterson, who played the diner owner on the TV show.

Patterson will be in Indy for HorrorHound Weekend starting Friday Sept. 6 at 5 p.m. and running through Sunday at 5 p.m.

The contest to win a chance to share a cup of coffee with Patterson is open to anybody who buys an autograph, selfie or professional photo op ticket for his appearances at the Indiana Convention Center. One person will win each day.

HorrorHound is the Midwest tour of horror conventions where fans can meet film and television celebrities.

In addition to Patterson, Patrick Wilson ("The Conjuring," "Fargo," "Prometheus"), Justin Long ("Dodgeball," "Galaxy Quest"), and Jackie Earle Haley ("Breaking Away," "Watchmen") are among the scary movie actors scheduled to appear for prepaid autograph and photo opportunities.

Cassandra Peterson, best known for her portrayal of "Elvira: Mistress of the Dark," will have a photo opp Friday and sign autographs Saturday and Sunday.

More than 100 vendors are scheduled to provide shopping for toys, videos, costumes and publications.

To avoid lines, organizers recommend purchasing tickets in advance.

Children under 12 get in free with a paid adult.
