Funeral set for Uber driver killed in I-70 crash

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The funeral for Avon-resident Jeffrey Monroe is set for Feb. 8.

Monroe was the Uber driver in a fatal incident on I-70 Sunday morning when a drunk driver hit Monroe who was pulled off on the side of the road. Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson was also a victim in that crash.

The visitation for Monroe will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park, according to Legacy.com.

There will be additional visitation on Friday, Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral service will immediately follow this visitation at noon.

The family has requested that any memorial contributions be made to Back On My Feet — non-profit organization focused on helping homeless people gain independence, living skills, and connect them with essential community resources. The organization is located at 964 N. Pennsylvania St. in Indianapolis.

Monroe was 54 years old.
