INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Frontier Airlines is adding flights from Indianapolis to Cancun.

The announcement Tuesday means the ultra-low-cost airline will fly to Cancun twice per week starting in December.

"Today's Frontier announcement adds to the growing number of flights it is offering out of Indianapolis, and makes it the first of its class to offer an international destination,” said Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority. “This new flight is further proof that airlines see the Indianapolis community as a place worthy of investment for growth — in partnership with the best airport in North America.”

The flights will take off every Monday and Friday. Frontier also offers nonstop flights to Denver, Orlando, Ft. Myers and Las Vegas.
