Fourth teen facing charges in burglary, murder of Indianapolis doctor

Tarius Blade

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A 16-year-old will be in court next week for his initial hearing after being charged as an adult in the home invasion of an Indianapolis doctor that turned deadly.

Investigators say Tarius Blade is just one of four teenagers that police believe broke into Dr. Kevin Rodgers' house in Eagle Creek last fall. They believe the teenagers shot and killed Rodgers when he confronted them.

Blade is facing multiple counts of burglary.

Prosecutors charged the three other teenagers in the case with both murder and burglary. Eighteen-year-old Ka'Ron Bickham-Hurst took a plea last week and could be sentenced next month. Devon Seats and Nehemiah Merriweather are both scheduled go to trial in November.
