Florida teen stole parents money, paid people to have them killed

UMATILLA, Fla. (WTHR) — A Florida teenager has been arrested after stealing her parents money and attempting to hire two different people to kill them.

WESH reported that Alyssa Hatcher, 17, stole her parents' debit card and withdrew money that she used to pay people to kill her parents.

Authorities were alerted of the situation when a teenager contacted them and said Hatcher had paid her friend "a lot of money" to find someone to commit the murders.

Hatcher's boyfriend also said that she had mentioned wanting to kill her parents.

Hatcher admitted to paying one person $400 and another $900, according to police.

The 17-year-old is being charged with criminal solicitation of murder. Neither of her parents were harmed.
