Florida police officer wrangles huge Burmese Python

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. (WTHR) — A police officer in Pembroke Pines, Florida got a little more than he bargained for last night while responding to a call.

The officer responded to a call of a 12-feet-6-inch Burmese Python in the middle of a street.

He quickly jumped into action, wrangling the giant snake under control. He took the python to police headquarters where a licensed python remover took it away.

Pythons are considered an invasive species and a threat to local wildlife, pets and children.
