Flash of light spotted in night sky up and down the West Coast

LAS VEGAS (NBC News) - A camera crew caught a flash of light in the sky over Las Vegas late Wednesday night.

The streaking light that appeared to be falling debris was spotted up and down the West Coast.

People from Utah to LA to San Jose craned their heads to the sky to catch the show.

It's still not clear what caused the lights, but similar streaks have been blamed on everything from meteor showers to falling space junk.
