First indoor polo match in Indiana


INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The first indoor polo match in Indiana is happening at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Saturday August 24, 2019, and all proceeds from this event will support the IMPD Mounted Patrol.

Executive Director Chris Golightly stopped by WTHR Weekend Sunrise with some of the mounted patrol. He explained how the mounted patrol is funded entirely by private donations. The money raised goes towards costs such as purchasing all the horses, training the officers as well as the horses and barn supplies.

You can buy tickets online. Gates open at 4 p.m. The match is taking place from 5-7 p.m. and PolkaBoy will perform at 7:30 p.m. right outside the Coliseum. You can also purchase tickets at the door for $25. The box offices opens at 3 p.m.
