Firefighters injured battling blaze at northeast side apartment

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Two firefighters were slightly injured while fighting a fire at a northeast Indianapolis apartment complex early Thursday.

Firefighters responded to the fire at an apartment that is being renovated on in the 5600 block of Brendon Way Parkway near I-465 and East 56th Street shortly after midnight.

One firefighter was reportedly injured after falling about 10 feet from a ladder. A second was cut by glass. Both firefighters were treated at the scene and returned to work fighting the fire.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. Damages were estimated at $200,000.
