INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The fifth suspect in the 2012 Richmond Hill house explosion goes to trial this week.

Jury selection in the trial of Glenn Hults is set for Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Marion County Superior Criminal Court. He faces one count of conspiracy to commit arson.

Hults is being represented by attorneys Jeff Mendes and Ralph Staples. Staples is a former Marion County deputy prosecutor. Both have represented clients in a number of high-profile trials in Marion County over the past several years.

The 2012 explosion destroyed dozens of homes and killed Jennifer and Dion Longworth.

The entire case is now nearly over. Mark Leonard and his brother, Bob, have already been convicted, while Gary Thompson reached a plea deal in August.

The trial for Hults is scheduled to last one week. There are approximately 18 potential witnesses being called to testify, including one of the main suspects in the case, Monserrate Shirley.

Hults' conspiracy trial brings prosecutors closer to the end of the case. Shirley, who took a plea and agreed to help prosecutors by testifying against the other suspects, will be sentenced. She faces 20-50 years in prison.
