FAYETTE COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) — The Fayette County Sheriff's Department has charged two people in connection with the shooting death of Michael Shane Hamilton early Thursday morning.

The sheriff's department has released photos of the two suspects. Mark Bennett, 18, has been charged with murder. Rodney Bennett, 44, has been charged with obstruction of justice and aiding in a robbery.

Police say the homicide happened shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday at the Elephant Hill Trailer park on West 21st Street.

Schools were put on lockdown Thursday during the search for three suspects at the time, but released students on time at the end of the school day.

Superintendent Scott Collins posted the following message on social media: "We appreciate the support of our local law enforcement agencies to ensure student safety and to our sheriff for his extra help today with providing additional officers for our schools."

Third man previously wanted, 21-year-old Adam Frye, is no longer a person of interest after being questioned and released.
