BROWNSBURG (WTHR) - Less than a week after a Alice Wright, 74, was found dead inside her Brownsburg home, police arrested two Indianapolis teenagers in connection with the case.

The family of Alice and Kerney Wright released the following statement through the Brownsburg Police Department on Saturday:
"The love of Kerney's life, his wife of 39 years, and his full-time caregiver, Alice, was tragically taken from him January 6th. Kerney has disabilitating medical conditions that will require entry into a skilled nursing facility. Please show your support for Kerney and Alice by contributing to Kerney's ongoing medical expenses and with your prayers. Kerney and his family thank you."

The family has setup a GoFundMe account to assist with his expenses.

One of the people charged is a young woman the family had trusted with the care of the victim's husband.

Detectives were interviewing suspects Arion Cruthird, 19 and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Kiesha Summerhill on Friday evening.

“Summerhill was a previous nurse's aide to Mr. Wright in his house," said Sgt. April Hyde, a Brownsburg police officer.

Wright was found dead Sunday morning in her bedroom. Kerney Wright, her 74-year- old husband, was discovered lying on the living room floor, out of his wheelchair.

“We do believe robbery was the motive as several items were missing from the home,” Hyde said.

Police said Kerney Wright is unable to communicate and there was no sign of forced entry at the home, but detectives quickly focused on Summerhill and Cruthird.

“We were conducting interviews and getting crime information,” Hyde said. “Doing the interviews, we came across information that pointed to them.”

Hyde said the couple was arrested without incident at their Indianapolis home.

An autopsy concluded that Alice Wright died of multiple traumatic injuries.

According to Hyde, it’s been a rapidly evolving case. Investigators still have questions they need answered. Besides a murder allegation, police expect that there will other charged filed against the couple.
