INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - If you were around Monument Circle Monday, you may have seen the special message scrolling across the IPL building.

It says "fight like a kid" in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Several families from Riley Hospital for Children, all with childhood cancer in common, met for a small prayer service.

"We just want to bring awareness and it's a great end to September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month," said one of the parents. "It just means a lot that everyone is here, supporting us and, more importantly, supporting the kids who have to go through all the treatments."

Besides awareness, they're hoping to promote the need for more research funding and safer treatments for the kids.
