Every kennel empty at KC shelter after Chiefs player sponsors all adoptable dogs

UPDATE: All dogs have been adopted at a Kansas City shelter thanks to Chiefs' defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi.

After the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, Nnadi announced that he would pay for the adoptions of all adoptable dogs at the KC Pet Project.

"The best sight we love to see," the Pet Project wrote in a Facebook post. " Because of Derrick Nnadi's generous sponsorship, our Petco Adoption Center has no more dogs to adopt. Every kennel is empty tonight - how wonderful!"

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WTHR) — The Kansas City Chiefs are the Super Bowl champions, and one player is celebrating in an animal-friendly way.

Chiefs' defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi decided to celebrate his team's win by paying for the adoptions of all adoptable dogs at the Kansas City Pet Project.

"We have had an amazing, season-long, partnership with Derrick and he couldn't have thought of a better ending," the KC Pet Project wrote on Facebook.

The paid-for adoption applies to all dogs at the KC Pet Project that were adoption-ready on Feb. 2 or before.
