COLUMBUS, Ind. (WTHR) - Police arrested an Edinburgh woman Sunday for shoplifting and resisting arrest.

Jennifer Durbin, 34, was reportedly seen at a Columbus Walmart burning price tags on merchandise then trying to leave the store without paying for items.

Columbus Police officers were called to the Whitfield Drive store, where they helped store security detain Durbin.

After she was handcuffed, police say Durbin attempted to kick and strike officers with her head.

She was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail and faces preliminary charges of Theft with a Prior Conviction (Level 6 Felony) and Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A Misdemeanor).

The stolen merchandise valued at over $100 was returned to Walmart.
